Yee haw! State Fair of Texas

My favorite fair food, two years in a row-FRIED GRILLED CHEESE. Yum!

Just like a little puppy.

I don't think I was allowed to be here. The parade floats in the secret hiding place. Not so secret anymore.

Not a great photo, but LOOK at the baby kangaroo in the pouch!! It was so tiny.

Behind every good photo...

To get a nice photo like this...
..you have to have a few like this. ET, is that you??

Key West Scenery

Key West was full of beautiful little surprises. I was in photography heaven. These are just a few of my favorite shots...in no particular order.
These colorful scooters caught my eye. Scooters and bikes were the preferred mode of transportation on the island. I, however, was not brave enough to give it a try.

Pretty lighthouse, across the street from Ernest Hemingway's house.

All that's missing are little frogs to sit on the lily pads. This pond was at Hemingway's house.

My absolute favorite restaurant. About an hour wait to seated for breakfast, but the banana pancakes were worth waiting for. This guy quietly sang Bob Marley songs while we ate. Heaven, really.

Mile zero. The other end of this highway is in Maine. You would think that this sign would be a big tourist attraction but actually it was just hidden away on a side road. We found it on our walk to the post office.

There are no words. This dolphin was so close that I could have touched him. He swam right next to the back of our boat. AMAZING!!

How cute is his face?? I wanted to jump in the water and swim with them.

The view on the sunset cruise. It was too cloudy for a nice sunset, but this sky made for some pretty dramatic shots.

Our cute little cottage. You can't tell in this picture, but I was scared to death that a lizard was going to jump on me while I was sitting there.

See what I mean?

So pretty. The flowers in Key West are stunning.

Fourth of July colors. Lots of pictures.

I tried out my beginner photography skills with this year's fireworks display. I am so proud of myself for shooting the whole thing on manual, no automatic settings. ( That probably doesn't excite anyone but me...) This was totally different from any of the other photos I've taken, but I think some of them turned out pretty cool.

The man in the moon

It was not easy to get this shot. Just so you know...
